Prevention of Hearing loss
We are all aware that "Prevention" is better than ‘Cure’. Similarly Hearing loss also can be prevented if we give attention into few aspects carefully. Following points will help you to prevent hearing loss, which is very precious for communication and safety. Similarly do not delay in taking immediate Professional help for your hearing loss. It may prevent further deterioration in hearing and prevent further worsening of consequences.
You also can get involved in preventing hearing loss by following the guidelines and spreading these guidelines among your family and friends,
Avoid marrying within relations.
Take proper immunization as recommended by doctors during pregnancy.
Have regular medical check up as recommended by doctors during entire period of pregnancy.
Attend hospital for safe delivery.
Have hearing checked for new born babies or at the earliest. Consult Audiologist for testing hearing.
REMEMBER : HEARING CAN BE TESTED WITHIN FEW DAYS AFTER THE BIRTH.
Take recommended immunization for the baby.
Do not pour oil into the ears.
Do not try to remove ear wax on your own. You may injure the ear.
Consult ENT specialist for removal of ear wax.
Do not use ear buds to remove ear wax.
Do not shout at the ears.
Use Ear Plug / Ear Muff while working in noisy area.
Do not keep audio systems and mobile phones at loud levels.
Have your hearing checked immediately, once suspecting hearing loss.
Do not delay in getting hearing aid fitted once recommended by Professionals.
REMEMBER : HEARING AID CAN BE FITTED AS EARLY AS 3 MONTHS AFTER BIRTH
